Overview
The General Services Administration (GSA) Network Services Awards Program was created in 1993 by the Interagency Management Council (IMC) to recognize individuals and group efforts that through their use of Federal Acquisition Services (FAS), Integrated Technology Services (ITS) contracts, improved the quality, management, and/or cost effectiveness of telecommunication services for their agency or the Federal government as a whole.
Recognition
There are two types of awards within the various categories: Individual and Group.
These awards are not intended to recognize or reward persons for performing their daily duties in an outstanding manner, but to acknowledge specific accomplishments where using GSA/FAS/ITS provided contracts and services resulted in an agency recognizing improved management and/or reduction in costs of technology services.
Cash awards are given to all individual awardees except for the Executive Excellence category and other specific instances noted below. When cash awards are not provided, there is non-monetary recognition.
Group Awards: Each member of a Group award receives a cash award. If an individual is selected for an Individual award and is also part of a Group award, only the Individual cash award will be awarded. If an individual is a member of two winning Group submissions, s/he will only be recognized once as part of a one of the Group awards. No individual Group award amount will be greater than an Individual award amount..
The IMC Awards Subcommittee determines the amount of the cash awards based upon the amount of funds available and the number of winning nominations.
